don't save us from the flames.

last night i witnessed my first philly show: M83 in the tabernacle of a church.

all i can say is wow—i went in not knowing what to expect (i hadn’t heard the new album) and came out a happy girl. perhaps it was the atmosphere, maybe it’s because it was 90 degrees inside the dark church with no air, or it might be because M83 just really excels at creating this shimmery, shoegazey, emotionally charged wall of sound (that feels like it could be a soundtrack to a film or your mundane daily activities, depending on your current emotional state.) whatever it was, it was beautiful—and the band itself was off the hook…tight, energetic, and caught up in the sound they were creating.

lovelylovelylovely. yep.

love, s!
